Get the GDDR3 version of the 8600GT. That'll OC up to around a GTS's speed.
Get Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800. $30 after rebates.
Get the OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU.

The OCZ doesnt have a rebate on it anymore, its more expensive.

Down the PSU to a cheaper $50-60, e.g. Rosewill RP550-2, XCLIO STABLEPOWER 460W, OCZ StealthXStream 500W
Upgrade 8600GT to 8800GS/ 9600GT

the reviews for those GT's aren't that great and I don't think their worth the extra $

still deciding on a build? I am glad i don't game as $350 for a computer would definately suffice for what i do. good luck with the build.

Hehe... if you bought the right hardware I'm sure a $350 computer would play COD4 fine... maybe not on max settings but hey.
