Default Bad-Sector ? Request to help

Frmds,

When i start my PC today, an "CHKDSK" Process had taken Place.
Is it Mean me gotta Bad-Sector ?

It happened only once, now my PC start absolutely Normally, But it takes A lot of time to start then before.

Also, None of the Application starts smoothly, they all take a lot of time to open.

This all problem had started suddenly.
Please inform me how to solve this problem.... ?

Also, tellme how to know in which drive/part of the hard-drive has got Bad-Sector in it.. ?

Please, inform an OS-inbuilt software to detect the problem.
and how to perform the task.

Me using- XP Professional.
