Default Buying a SATA DVD burner tommorrow

Anyone point me to a good one at Newegg?

I don't know of any specifics right off... I'd just look for the best rated ones, then the best priced ones... My previous brand of choice was NEC, but I think they've gone out of the burner business.

And is there any reason to get SATA? If you can find an IDE drive for less, there will be no performance difference.

I'd get sata, no bulky ide cable or jumpers to mess with

depends on what you're going to do with the burner....
labelflash or lightscribe or regular
for regular nowadays all burners will do the job well. although i'm partial to pioneers just get the cheapest one you can find

What is light scribe?I will be using this mostly to copy some DVD's and to burn family photos and such.

I only bought one drive with lightscribe, and i never use it..

haha yeah, i saw that after i bought the drive , my other one is a S183L (they look exactly the same, execpt it has lightscribe)

Whatever you do DON'T buy LG.I bought one and it was junk from day one.I have had no problems with my Lite-On.
