The disks are actually only 931GB in size. So it shows up as 3724GB which is (931 x 5) - 931, which must be the back up RAID drive.

I don't mind the RAID being partitioned if it's an advantage. The problem with my system is that it isn't allowing me to format the largest 1.6TB partition.

Have you read about GPT yet?

If you do that math: 3724 - 2048 = 1.6

2048 is the precise number of gigabytes you can partition when using the standard basic mbr scheme. No more.

I think you have found the solution. How do I format or RAID the drives in GPT?

I've just tried to convert the disk to GPT but in DISKPART it says "the disk must be empty". I can't see any other way of converting them unless I delete the RAID and then try to convert all five drives singularly before I RAID them again. Any other ideas?
