Default Can it hurt?

I don't have much money, so I first want to buy a Radeon HD3870 and later a Core 2 Duo. I have a Celeron D now . My current CPU will probably bottleneck my video card, but is it dangerous, can it kill my computer? If not, I want my video card first, because the one I have now really sucks, and I can't even play Battlefield 2.

And if I first bought a Core 2 Duo and later a HD3870 (I've got Radeon xpress 200 now), would that Xpress 200/Core 2 duo be a dangerous bottleneck?

And wich of those two should I buy first?

Thats true one or the other would be a bottleneck till you get the CPU and Video card both but theres nothing dangerous about it. Before you get your Video Card make sure your P/S is good enough.

Also make sure everything else is capable of the new equipment, including the motherboard. I would personally suggest that you buy a new system. Putting powerful equipment into a system like yours will probably end up in a malfunction or unwanted performance. If you can't do that, then good luck.
