What is RAID?
I get the combining hard drives to get one logical drive and redundant array of inexpensive disks but can't you just buy hard drives and put them into your computer.

You don't need to setup a RAID array with multiple hard drives, in fact it's not even recommended for a personal desktop.

Theres 5103 words on that page (and I looked at it).
I don't want to do it. I just want to know what it is and an example of how its used in less than 5103 words.

basically it makes multiple disks work together as one, either mirroring each other, or striping and working together as one, and in some configurations it does both mirror + stripping.
Really, in all honesty, only really applicable in server side technology. Not really an end user technology at all, with a few minor exceptions of some advance specific esoteric users. |

I did it with my 2 500G HDDs an i regret it i an so scared that i will lose everything. i do have a question thou if i have to reset my BIOS for any reason will i lose my RAIO0 Array or can i reset it then put my setting back to RAID an then it will rember it, or would i just have to start again?
