what motherboard do you have?

you currently have 400mhz speed ram. so it is possible that your motherboard cant take a higher speed like in that link you posted.

The ABIT motherboard you selected works with DDR or DDR2 memory. I would buy two modules of this 1 gigabyte G.Skill PC2 4200 (DDR2 533) RAM. Each module is $25 with shipping costs included.

ya i just ended up buyin the 2gb kit of kingston for $43.98 total. kingston is the ram i first started with wen i started messin with comps so figured thats always did good for me so just went wit that. ill keep everyone posted on my new build. First time ive ever built one but it seems easy. ive been messin wit comps for the past 3-4 yrs so i know a decent amount of info about them. it just sucks i was on a tight budget. it should work out tho.
