Exclamation Weird Problem

Computer specs: 7.0 GHZ dual core motherboard. 4 GB RAM. BFG 8500 512 MB PCI video card. 550 Watt power supply.

I have/had a problem starting up my computer. I just build it a few days ago and everything was going great. It stopped working when I shut it down using the one button in vista that looks like the shutdown button in the start menu. Normally I pull the tabs down and tell it to shut down that way.

The computer would boot after that, but I wouldn't get any video. I could hear the HDD spin up and everything worked except I didn't get any video. My video card is brand new, so it shouldn't be that as the problem. The card was spinning and there was no visible damage to it at that time.

I disassembled my PC and thought that might work. Nope, still no video. I then took the power supply out, looked at it, put it back in, and it sparked when I plugged it in and turned it on and I believe died.

My question is if my other hardware might be damaged from the power supply sparking and what did that shut down looking button in vista do that caused my PC to screw up?

Also, I don't have anything to test it, but I'm pretty sure my power supply is dead and if replaced, everything should work again. What do you think?

You may have hit a sleep button. Did you try pressing some keys or clicking the mouse?

And a 7 ghz processor? Talk about a major overclock!

Yea, 7.0 GHZ and it already came pre-overclocked when I bought it. The CPU isn't fried; I checked. I did click buttons and hit some keys. I never woke up. I remember the temperature was 42 C (I think CPU).
My CPU's are 3.0 GHZ and 3.0 GHZ. 500 MHZ per chip overclocked isn't really that unstable.

I tested my HDD, monitor, and CD-RW in another PC and it worked fine.

I can't however test my motherboard or my graphics card to make sure they are ok.
Strange thing, I plugged in my power supply again into the PC and it didn't power on at all. Maybe my thought on it being dead is right.

People don't get that they CAN'T ADD UP THE SPEEDS.

Check the RAM on the other computer.

I can't check the RAM because it's a different type. Hmm.
