Am I assuming that the server is between your computer and the router? So, combine #2 and #3 to look like: router--server--your computer? If so, then first make sure that you've got the proper security settings on the router (I'm not sure on the Belkins as they are generally crap, no offense...). Probably what's happened is that the router is set up so that the computers can't see each other when they are connected through the router.
