Does this seem at all worth it, because my moms computer is starting to slow down, and i've got too much work going on to build her a new one

What are the specs of your mom's computer?
That computer would be very slow. Only 64mb of ram and a 666mhz celeron; it would be crawling.

That computer you posted would be a downgrade. What you could do is add some more ram to your existing computer to speed it up some.
