*NOT ACTUALLY BUILDING*
Okay... Heres your chance to shine in glory! Your challenge is to try and put together a very cheap computer that runs decent for doing small tasks... (Videos, Downloads, Homework). It also needs to play CD's/DVD's. Basically there is no rules besides the fact that it should be able to complete the tasks given. Performance doesn't have to be outstanding but it could decide whether you win or lose! MUST BE NEWEGG PARTS. First off I will post my ideas, according to Newegg prices: E2160 1.8GHz (3.0GHz OC'd) Dual-Core Processor ($71.99) GIGABYTE GV-NX84G256HE GeForce 8400GS 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail ($40) GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX Intel Motherboard ($67) G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory ($25) NZXT Apollo SILVER NP Silver SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ($70) Rosewill Stallion Series Dual Ball Bearing Fan RD400-2-DB ATX V2.2 400W Power Supply 115V/230V CSA, UL, TUV, FCC ($32) ASUS Black DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - Retail ($36.99) Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache ($80) Total: (~$430) Last edited by Jesse; 03-10-2008 at 08:07 AM. |

wow.. sorry I forgot my HDD... let me fix that. Also, no it does not need to play games. Yes you can say over clocked. And also, yes very cheap can be considered under $400. Last edited by Jesse; 03-10-2008 at 08:07 AM. |
