The Canon MX700 is a great printer for everyday needs. It retails for about $200 but I'm sure you can get it cheaper online. I work at OfficeMax and I never have a problem with this printer and can honestly say that it has never come back. It has a very solid build, is fast, and can do decent quality photos and documents. If you're looking for an all purpose printer in the $200 range this is what I would recommend and don't just take my word for it, every review I've read on it has been very positive.

There is one minor problem, if I remember correctly I don't believe it has xD card support so if you have an Olympus camera this feature might be a turn off.

Although I haven't used that model, my experience with Canon over the last 15 years has been repeatedly dismal. Cameras? Great? Printers? Total garbage. The only one I've had luck with so far is their multifunction laser.

When it comes to printers, nothing can touch an HP IMO.

Second that! Canon printers have zero life expectancy and their ink is VERY pricy. HP will last you till the end of time and their ink is reasonable. ($15 for a black cartridge round here and $25 for color) I have an older one from about 7 or 8 years ago and that thing is fast as crap and prints pristine to this day. I had three canons prior and everyone lasted maybe MAYBE 2 years.

Canon make excellent cameras! I'm not sure on their printers as I've never used one, but their cameras are great!
