Default M/S word, worlds most boring question

I'm writing this ****ing dissertation 10 hours a day at the moment, and some things are starting to annoy me. I have m/s word 97 btw.

The most annoying one at the moment is this: when I click and drag the bar at the side the page doesn't scroll up when a move, it just jumps when I let go. How do i change this? It's really annoying!

cheers for any responses

btw, anyone an expert on how recording sessions were mic'd up in the 1920s and 1930s??

Is this the only situation where you get this behavior? It might be graphics drivers.

Wiki isn't really a source I can use, I need to properly list every source and they have to be reliable.

I've noticed that word will scroll if I shrink it so I can only see the width of one page instead of the 2 pages I had before, maybe it's just a bug in the software

The only thing i can see on word 2000 is under options where you can enable/disable the vertical scroll bar. Spent about 10 minutes looking and couldn't find anything. Sorry
