Problem with DVD-Drive

My DVD-drive is hl-dt-st dvdrrw gwa-4164B and it stopped reading and burning both CD:s and DVD:s after I reinstalled Windows. When I put disc in it starts spinning for moment and then stops. Windows claims that there is no disc in drive. I have tried, but haven't find driver to it. Would driver even help or is problem someting else? I am using Windows Xp.

Go into the [Device manager and see if there is an error next to the DVD?CD-ROM drives. If so, what is it?

Have you tried to clean the drive/lens?

In device manager Windows claims that it is ok.
What are lens?

I was told that updating firmware might help. How do I update it?
