Default less function, more speed?

I have a laptop (toshiba u205 series) and its boot is in the 3 minute range.
Is there a way I make this time shrink?

I have already deleted useless programs and softwares in hopes of increasing my computer's operating speed (e.g. word pad, preinstalled games, powerpoint, paint, norton antivirus, etc. obvious programs that I know I have no use of)

Default

click start/run/msconfig.exe and from startup tab uncheck any unnecesary programs. then click start/run/regedt32 and hit enter. From the reg editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURENT VERSION/RUN and there delete any keys relating to the programs u don't want them to run at startup. And to speed up even more the boot process enter bios and enablle quick boot. fom windws right click my computer click properties/advancec tab/cllick setting under performance/and select adjust for best performance/apply/ok. ( this will resort to using a windows 2000 theme). if u have somethin i start/programs/start up/ remove them to. also make sure your desktop is not crowded, and your c: partition is defragmented. to speed the boot even more change ure background picture to NONE. that's about it
