Default What do you think?

My neighbour kid desktop (Compaq presario) went down. First the thing read
"Disk read error ocurred" so they called support and were told the drive was bad. So they got a new drive in the mail (but have to mail the other one) So i told him i would put it in for them. Well before i did anything i went into the bios and look around didnt see anything. Than it said (on the screen)
"Hard Disk Failure is Imminent" so i went ahead and open it up, but i pull all the plugs (connecters) look at them and put them all back in tight. Started the desktop and everything came on fine, the harddrive is even humming nicely. Could it have been just a loose connection, or is the harddrive still going to crash?? I don't see the need to put in the new harddrive, if this one came back to life. Oh he just got this desktop this past Xmas, so its still new..... Anyway let me know what you guys think, and thanks for any info

most compaqs i've worked has has this BIOS utility, the failure can occur at anytime, yes, it's advisable to get a new drive and start backing up

hard drives can crash any day, can be a manufacture defect
