Help Me Find Out If This Ram Stick Will Work....

hi guys, at my local computer store, they got a deal going on , they got this:

i'am hoping it will work on my laptop so i can get tit as a birthday present today, but i'am unsure if it will work with my laptop, my laptop is a dell inspiron 6400.... it is about a year old...and it currently has 2X512mb's in it...... so i was wondering if that model of laptop will take that one stick of ram.......please reply back to me asap as the deal is only good for another few hours, thxs, shawn

edit: chaged my mind and went with another stick....it says its for mac but will it still work?, thxs, shawn

i beleave that your laptop has 2 slots of ddram. An currnetly having 2x512 means that both are occupied. If your ar planning to buy another dimm y must take out one of the 512 you already have. And yes your laptop is compatible with that specific type of ram.

thxs for your reply.....yes i plan on taking out both 512's and putting in 2 new 1gbs.....so vista runs smoother...thxs
