Default Reset, Reset, Reset...

Hello everyone.
I built my own computer, some time ago, but now it is starting to act up. When I hit the power button, the HD, CD-ROM lights and floppy lights come on and go off like normal, but the computer does not run. I used to be able to hit the reset button once and everything would be fine. For a month or two, everything worked like it should, hit the power button, computer comes on, but now I have to hit the reset button many times, 10+.

I checked to make sure it is not dirty inside, it is not. Checked the power switch wires going to the Mobo, they are fine. I even unpluged and replugged them.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

I have an AMD Athlon(64) 3200+, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Home, Antec power supply, Radeon X1650 graphics card, Creative sound card, Sony DVD burner and a generic 56x CD-ROM, but I unplugged the power and data cable from both and tried to start and got the same problem.
If you need to know anything else, let me know.

i think that your mobo is dying, or the CPU is crapping, but its most likely the motherboard.

Did you recently add any hardware to the system? Before replacing the MoBo, do you have a spare PSU you can hook up to see if it's a power issue?

maybe you should try swapping the PSU with a good working one. Sound like a power problem.

Agreed. Sounds like the PSU is straining quite alot for power...
