Default Upgrade CPU on current machine easy?

Upgrade CPU on current machine easy?

like say i have a computer with amd athlon64 3200+ and i want to upgrade the cpu to dual core cpu...... how easy or how hard to replace the old cpu with the new cpu?

is it a hassle? do i jus take out the old cpu and stick the new cpu in and press it down and like that? or what? is it difficult?

do i have to take every component out before i can install the new cpu? do i have to take out some drive and wires ect.. ?
