blu ray won the format war but now that there's no competition prices aren't going to drop as quickly as most of us would like. They'll still drop but there's a good chance it won't be until next year before it's worth it for most people to add this drives (especially if you want a burner) to our computers.

When they get as cheap as stand alone HDMI DVD players and PC DVD burners............ then I'll buy Blue Ray.

Yea, but Blu-Ray players aren't going to be $50 within the near future. 3-4 years down the road, yes, 6 months, no.

I'm thinking a little higher than that.
I wouldn't buy a $50 HDMI DVD player.
I can see quality (Onkyo,Denon,Harmon) BlueRay players hitting the under $200 mark within 6 months now that the format war is over.
I might have to wait a little longer for an under $100 Pioneer or Plextor BlueRay burner for my PC. I figure in a year they will be at that price.
