Default 790i ultra sli ddr3 and ddr2?

I know that the point of the 790i ultra sli mobo is the DDR3 memory support, but will it also run DDR2 memory? I'm just thinking it would be great if I could run DDR2 right now, and then upgrade to DDR3 when I need it or it is less expensive.

EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard

Thanks everyone.
