My 900 barely has enough head room to make the top fan useful. I'll eventually get another desk and then get a larger case.

I'm not sure where this myth comes from, but it's obviously dead wrong. No real silencer uses water cooling. It would just be foolish.

Agreed. Real silenced computers usually use gigantic home made aluminum heatsink side panels, and lots of heatpipes. There are usually no heatsinks on the inside of the computer, due to the complete lack of airflow.
