Default Help! errors with all video cards

Over the past few months I've had multiple problems with any video card that I've used. My system is a roughly three year old Dell, with a 3.0 ghz processor, 3 gigs of RAM, a generic disk drive and hard drive, and a new motherboard supplied by Dell. Over the past few months I've tried 2 of the stock 128mb video cards that came with the Dell, a Radeon X 700 pro, an e-Geforce 6800 XT and a Geforce 7800 GT. All cards send a signal to the screen, but none make an image. The screen goes black, and the green light on the monitor blinks. It does not pop up with the standard "The monitor is functioning please check monitor cable." The only game that can run off the integrated graphics is counterstrike, which runs surprisingly smooth at 40+ FPS but gets old after a half hour or so.

I'm somewhat advanced with computers but cant figure out why the cards don't work. I've probably talked with dell 10 times, each time 30 to 45 minute intervals but they do nothing more than send the same parts the computer came with. My hope is that they'll simply send me a new system since I'm still under warranty, but I doubt that will happen.

My first thought was motherboard, but they sent a new one and nothing changed. They also sent a new graphics card, which also didn't work. The RAM doesn't seem to be conflicting and it's configured properly. Also, I know the cards work because they work in other computers.

If anyone can help me figure this out, god fu**ing bless. The other day I threw in one of the cards and it actually worked for about 5 seconds and went black again.

It could be since its a older Dell that the Power Supply isnt strong enough to power the cards since you tried 3. Have you uninstalled your onboard video drivers and set the bios to check the Video slot first instead of the onboard.

There's a great power in words, if you don't hitch too many of them together.
