Default Reduced performance with sli

Hi i've recently baught an extra 8800 gts to go sli, but when I play test drive unlimited I am getting glitches. The screen will pause momentarily and at random. It's as if the fps is low, but when I turn the graphics all on the lowest setting I still get the glitches. If I exit the game and turn sli off the game runs fine.
I am wondering if I need a special sli driver or something? also whats a safe temperature range for them to run at becuase one of the cards is very close to my sound card.
Appreciate any help!

i run sli and get the same problem never turned it off tho. Does it just randomly freeze for a second sometimes or longer? And even tho u can easily run the game on low/high it still does it?

It doesn't normally freeze for any longer than a second, and yea turning the resolution and graphics setting all to their lowest value doesn't make any difference.
I also noticed on trackmania that smoke/dust is sometimes multi coloured like a rainbow and you can see lights through solid objects. But I don't seem to be getting the freezing with trackmania.
notblueplum You should go into the nvidia control panel and check the 'do not use sli' button and see if it works alright. What cards are you running and what temp do they normally run at?
I noticed one of mine is about 10 deg C above the other so maybe that will have an affect?

The green smoke is do to crappy nvidia drivers and they are working on it. I have the same thing in LFS and GTR2. Your not the only one.

Are you running 1 or 2 cards? I only get it when I put the 2nd one in, with a single card it's ok.

So is there anyone on here that's running two 8800 gts's that can tell me the drivers ect they are using? I'm thinking of just selling them and getting a better single card 'cos this is alot of hassel.
Does sli tend to run any different on vista?
