Arrow File system that are supported by all OS

I have XP and i tried the new ubuntu(didnt install but browse from cd).
Ubuntu is not recognising any of my other drives which are in NTFS file system.

Is there any common File System that is readable/writable for Linux/Windows in common.

Or any software that can be installed into linux to access NTFS file system?

Thanks.

Google found this http://www.linux-ntfs.org/doku.php but there's probably more.

As for file systems I'm pretty sure Fat and Fat32 can be accessed by both Linux and windows.

Yeah, FAT can be read and written to by both, but unless your HD is under 10GB then that's not overly helpful. I'm not sure why Ubuntu can't read your NTFS drive. Usually it will see it as soon as you install it. If you get that running, there is a program (can't remember the name) that you can use to make ubuntu be able to write to NTFS drives too.

In XP, I use this so that I can see EXT2 and EXT3 drives: http://www.fs-driver.org/
