Default Do I need to keep these programs?

I'm trying to free up space on the C drive. Which of the following programs do I need to keep and which can I remove?

-Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool

-Windows Installer

-12 Different Windows Hotfix Files.

Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool
Microsoft checks your computer against the licence number and hardware, without it you will not be able to download critical updates.

Windows Installer
Probably won't be able to install and use "Add/Remove programs" in the Control Panel

12 Different Windows Hotfix Files
Again hopefully they were installed for a good reason and could leave you open to attack and/or instability.

I would look elsewhere to free up space or upgrade your HD

yeah like mentioned realy you want to keep those updates and the validation.

either remove the programs you dont use much OR a better alternative is to buy an additional hard drive

You need the validation tool if you want to run Windows Update or download certain Microsoft products.

The hot fixes keep your computer up to day, and should not be removed. The total spcae you would gain from uninstalling all those hotfixes would probably only be a few MB's.

You could also run regular Disk Cleanups and compress certain areas that are rarely used to regain a bit of space.
