depends are you using 32-bit windows or 64-bit windows, If 64-bit id go with the 4gb

Isn't unused RAM idle, making it basically functionless? I'd think that unless you need a ton of RAM and plan on utilizing that much that faster RAM would be better. If my program took 1.5 gigs I'd rather run it on DDR2-1066 than DDR2-800, or am I missing something?

800mhz ram is plenty fast. 1066 is not worth it.
having said that tho. even with vista ultimate i hardly use my 2gb so i would get the 1066. but usually i would say the 4 gb 800

well you can get more ram if your motherboard will take it. its pretty cheap

personally i would go with 2x800 cos i dont use up much ram. but if your doing stuff that is requiring more ram then amount is prefered over speed.
