you have to install everything, windows does not work if you put a drive in a different computer, on bootup it will blue screen

What are you talking about?? If you image your hard drive there is no other computer. I would hold off reinstalling everything until you can ask the question as to what you really want.

i am think that soon i am going to have to do a drive wipe, and i have about 200 programs, mostly from back corners of the web, and i dont want to have to reinstall all of them. i am wondering if i copy everything on my C: drive onto an external, wipe the C: drive and then copy all the files back on if the programs will need to be fully installed, or since i have included all the services files and stuff if it will work. thanks.
p.s. if that wont work, my computer is giving me an error script when i try to start up the "help and support", device manager is blank and system restore is giving me one restore point (i usually have one every other day or so) and sound has stopped. i went into msconfig startup settings and disabled all, but now, even though i reenabled everything it still doesnt work. any ideas? thanks a lot.

You will most likely have to reinstall them again

It says they are stopped, even though they are checked and everything. u cant right click to enable them or anything. any knowledge on the subject? thx http://bp0.blogger.com/_BZTI8LvZC3o/...ogram+Prob.JPG

i am sorry. i was asking about the programs because i thought i was going to have to do a drive wipe, but i have realized that the problem is just right in the system config files. and right now i would rather just get the files running than going through all the labor of a drive wipe. so right now all i want to do is get the system files running, which will allow the sound to start up.

system files? that sounds like one of those generic terms that are used when you dont actually know what you talking on about. Rather thaan pretending to know about computers how about you just drop "trying to sound knowledgable and tell us what went wrong? what you did, and what you have done since.

have you reinstalled your sound card drivers?
have you checked the advanced systray to check its not just muted
(there is nothing in the services tab of msconfig that will cause your issue here)
when did the sound dissappear
is this a self build?
is it iintergrated sound in which case what is the motherboard make and model
