It's probably the video card. What temperature is it running at?

looks like the gfx card is no good,i would return it right away if you still have a guarentee.

have you tried another card to see or if you have a onboard gfx you could remove the gfx cad and see if your system boots up on intergrated gfx.

tbh,ive only recently heard about palit so we dont know if theyre a good company or not.

Thanks, ive heard that palit is the leading company in GFX in china. I think when i take it back as i still have
warranty, i might get another brand just incase. the 1gb memory was never needed anyway. Can anyone reccomend anything good for $160 AUD? thanks

Actually, I would first check the hard drive. A corrupt hard drive might also lead to this. Maybe try a safe mode boot? Or try installing a separate XP while keeping the old one intact (this way you won't lose anything).

I would also try reinstalling Windows, or at least try booting up into safe mode and also various OS discs.

Exclamation Tried a few things.....

A couple of times when i have started this system uo the bios would be a little glitchy, letters would b jumbled up or missing. Couldnt manage to get an image tho.

Ok, i decided to go into safe mode, which does work, as it usually would, i put the graphics colours down to 16 and resolution as low as it would go. When trying to start up windows i got this. (The dots change colours, Green and Blue)

The i put in a 20gb hdd that i knew was good, to install kubuntu a linux operating system. it was a little glitchy at first.

then it would start up and it was running fine, except completly slow. images bellow.

This is basically a new system, maybe like 1 month old, all new parts.
AMD Athlon x2 6000+
1gb DDRII 800 (NEED MORE I KNOW)
200gb HDD, IDE NOT SATA(NEED A SATA I KNOW)
Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 motherboard
PALIT 8600GT with 1gb memory
600w or 650w psu (cant remmember)
This was all working untill today. Please help
I can return the video card for a new one if needed. Thanks
