Should I buy an air mouse?
For the past 5 years, I have been experiencing severe back spasms due to constant reaching for my mouse. I have bought ergonomic devices but those have not helped.
These air mice look promising. Although I have heard rumors that the mouse pointer on screen does not always align with the device being waived in the air. I hear it always need to be "reset." Is this true? Are air mice worth buying? The logitech one looks good. Does anyone else have any specific recommendations of air mice to buy if they are worth buying? Thank you so much.

I've been pondering on a Logitech cordless trackball mouse here. You can look over that model at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104125 Office supply stores charge something like $99.95 for that model!

The rf models don't seem to see the same problem of switching into 3D mode when simply going to lift the mouse up off of any flat surface. That was one comment in response to the review seen at http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/review/lo...why-285753.php

I use the logitech mouse, primarilly so I can lie in bed with the g/f and watch films and shit without having to get up. It's pretty good as a regular mouse, although the touch pad scroll wheen is annoying and not accurate enough. If you just want to use the computer casually then the mouse works fine in the air, quite accuarte once you get the hang of it, but I don't think you'd get anywhere near the accuracy of a regular mouse, even with excessive practice.

As for 'resetting' it, yeah, it works in the same way as a regular mouse - if you move the cursor off the screen and keep physically moving the mouse, when you bring the cursor back on screen the mouse is in a different place on your desk. Same in the air - except in the air you'll only have one place that your hand and arm feels comfortable, so you do find yourself 'resetting' it against the edges of the screen quite a lot. There isn't annoyingly a button to centre the cursor or something...

Also, I don't think the transmitter is the strongest thing ever - I've got a thick chunky desk with the computer and reciever underneath, and it can loose it. I'm gonna get a keyboard with some powered usb ports to solve this though.

Overall I think it's good, but I dunno if I could only use it in air mode...

That's one reason I use a trackball type here since I don't actualy have the space on the desk to move a mouse around. Plus when first getting the MS Trackball Explorer used here the optical models were just being seen for the first time.



That's a larger size model typical of MS models over Logitech. The logitech models are reliable but for those with small hands. When you have larger hands with longer fingers you don't want to pressing two buttons at the same time!
