Default new graphics card?

im wanting some advice on what to buy for my system below!!

i dont really game (command and conquer) but i do watch alot of movies etc on my pc.

my graphics card is the last upgrade i will be making so i would like a good one but i dont really want to go over the £100 mark as it would not be worth it for what i use it for

You don't really have to upgrade anything, unless you want to run Command and Conquer in Max settings, then I would recommend the 7600GT if not your current system is pretty good. In terms of watching movies, it doesn't really matter what graphics solution you have, it should be fine, you can watch movies with integrated graphics nowadays anyway.

The 7300GS should be ok for the purposes you described. I would recommend a bigger screen, I have a Samsung 24", absolutely love it. I think you should get the 7600GT and a 22 or 24 inch screen.

the thing is ive got a few good parts and spent a few £ and the only thing i feel lets me down is my graphics, i only paid £20 for it

all i want is a good upgrade that could play some games if i ever wanted too

my card only get 3.0 in vista rating

Does Vista rating system really matter? That card is fine for movies and light gaming. When you say Command and Conquer, do you mean generals and zero hour or tiberium wars? It should be ok with Generals and Zero hour but for Tiberium wars it would be a bit laggy, so get the 7600GT if you are on a budget, that card would be adequate for your needs.

Yeah. The 7600 would be a good option!

Or an 8600, or a 3870 if you could spend a little more?

There is no point getting the 8600GT I think, its a horrible card, if you want to stay within the 100 pounds range, then the 7600GT would be your best choice, if you only play command and conquer then getting anything above a 7600GT would be a waste of money.

If you wanted, I've got a 7950GT for sale, I would sell that for about £70... It's a great card, it's the highest end 7 Series card... Well, under the GX2, but that's two cards, right?

Here's some pictures;

Yeah, I figured I wasn't going to get that price, so I've dropped it...

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=385&card2=445

There's a comparison between the 7600GT and the 7950GT, I think it's worth it for another £20... It's pretty much double the performance!

But it's your call
