for $600 you can build yourself a better one. lol there's no such thing is pentium D 6.0ghz. did he add up the two cores together to get that total speed? well it doesn't work that way. there are better dual cores out now so pentium D isnt all that great. and some of the info is still pretty vague

Any suggestions on where to start? A place online that let's you build your own for a decent price. Or which of the specs are actually good so that if I build my own I can take the good from this one and leave out the bad. I'm pretty lost when it comes to the new stuff. Truthfully I've been using my same computer since 04, and I haven't been keeping up with the new technology.

I doubt there is a Penium D 6.0Ghz, most likely its a 3.0Ghz Pentium 925. Frequency do not stack up, so two cores running at 3.0Ghz does not mean you have a 6.0 Ghz CPU. Also the graphics card leaves alot to be desired, the 8500GT is not exactly a speed demon, I wouldn't consider that computer to be a gaming one, more like a budget low end one.

thats not a good price for that computer, you can do better. the 8500GT is not a gaming card, not even close

Ya thats a poor price for what your getting there. You could build a pc with the pentium D and 8500GT for probably close to 300 without OS, which is nowhere near 600.
