Default Video Card?

I have a retail PC currently with aGeForce 8400GS
I want to get into gaming and was wondering what a good video card is, since there are so many out there around 200-250$

min. 8800GS
-> 9600GT/ HD3870 -> 8800GT -> 8800GTS 512MB -> 3870x2

If you have retail PC, make sure your PSU is powerful enough when you install new GPU

I use a 9600gt and it works fine, not overclocked and it runs COD4 maxed settings and 1440x900 rez perfectly (my monitor supports nothing higher ;_.

The 8800GT sucks as much as a 8600... it might not be necessary to upgrade then... although your PSU specs would help tremendously...

GT = $179.99 at TigerDirect

GTS G92 = $214.99 at Newegg

8800GT is a near top of the line card (or was at least).
