Say, your computer has a DVD player capable of read/write. You play your VCD and/or DVD disc using programs like Windows Media Player, RealOne Player. Is it possible to do more than just viewing the video?

How do you take a snapshot? Or if you want to record a particular series of actions within the video, how is it done?
