Default how do you reset cmos?

I have read a couple of forums about peoples new ram not working and alot of them said they reset the cmos and voila. I just bought two brand new sticks of ram and installed them, upon computer start up everything beeps but nothing shows up on the monitor, then i put the old ram back in and everything works fine. Plz help?
