You can definitely make an exact duplicate of the DVD. There's I know at least half dozen DVD copier software out there that have the ability to duplicate
encrypted/protected discs.
That's not what I want. I'm only interested in extracting particular scene (i.e., short clip) from the movie, so I can save it as AVI/MPEG file. Of course I can do it the hard way, that is, play the disc on a stand-alone DVD player; and then use the S-video connection via a capturing device (PCI card). But I thought there could be an easier way.
