Apple iPod vs Dell DJ MP3 vs PDA?

Differences? Why I got to pay an extra 35 for the iPod dock, while dock is free from Dell? Why iPod so expensive? Can a PDA be used as an MP3 player and carry at least 10G?

It will work with PC. If you go to the site, when you see the iPod advertisement it says Mac+PC
