Here's the list of components for the build. I'd like someone to check absolutely everything.
This includes power supply connections, motherboard and interoperability issues, and whether the machine will be upgradeable for the future (eg new graphics, extra HDD, and extra 1gb RAM (although mobo only supports 4gb, etc). I need to know absolutely everything there is to know about this machine, and the way the components will work together. ![]() As I say, someone. Please spend the time reading the information for all of these products on the ebuyer.com site, so that I can be sure. Please can someone go over this extremely thoroughly, and tell me whether or not it will work. Thanks for your time, anyone that undertakes this task. Edit: Also, does anyone know who the OEM of Ebuyer's Extra Value PSU's is, and whether they appear on the good/bad PSU list here. Plus, here's the list of links to save anyone the time of loading and searching. I'd rather get a branded PSU. I have had using their PSU, although not this one, it start noisy after 9 month.
OCZ StealthXtream 500W PSU £32.66 Your machine don't need 700W, with 8600GT, 400-450W is enough. Then, you can get SATA DVD burner. OS and RAM: Why don't you get 64bit OS and get 4GB RAM. Or if you insist of 32bit with 3GB. 2 x 1GB + 2 x 512MB Running faster. And the RAM you're chosen is at CL6, SLOW! Get OCZ Platinum at DDR2 CL4 GPU: Are you using the machine for gaming, 8600GT is not really good. Get 9600GT if you can afford. Monitor: That Acer is use VGA input. You'd better get one with DVI LG L204WT HANNS.G HW191D |

Btw, if my motherboard supplies 1.8v of power to the RAM slots, do you just change the BIOS to make it supply 2.1v of power (needed for the OCZ modules suggested)?
Thanks. Just compiling the final components list.

OK, thanks for everything, daisymtc. I think I've got my final components list worked out. It's a bit over what I wanted to spend, and I've kept the configuration of 3 x 1gb sticks and 32bit OS, because this leaves room for future upgrades (all RAM 4-4-4-15 timings). The graphics card is going up to a 9600GT (or the latest card at the time) at the end of this summer. Thanks for your help in component selection. Gone for the new monitor, PSU and DVD drive. Here's the new components list.
![]() Any last modifications should be suggested now, I'm ordering this build in 2 days (Tuesday, 5:00pm GMT+0). Btw, that's an approx. time.

Get at least a E6750. Also, get more than 1GB of RAM. With 2GB and Vista, I still want more.

Intel P31/P35 chipset is better overclocking. While 650i is a outdated one. |
