Exclamation Help! Recover Lost Data During Half a format

When i ran compaq recovery, it started to recover on my DATA hard drive not the main hard drive. I was able to stop the recovery before it was able to format the hard drive. But now the hard drive is hidden, and it was split up in to 2 partitions. Half the drive (90%) of the drive remained unformated but 10% of the drive has become formated. I need a program to beable to recover the lost data on that hard drive. I cant access the hard drive in windows beacuse it says its unparitiond when you go in to manage under my computer. Long story short, If you know any program or any way to help me recover this lost data please post! Thanks in advance!

There are a few retail programs like Active Undelete and Ontrack Recovery for scanning for file fragments to see what can be recovered. Recover My Files is a shareware with a trial period as well as found at http://www.download.com/Recover-My-F...dlpid=10823572

Ontrack is the most often used program while Active Undelete is also a recommended software. One thing I do regularly at this time having run into a situation like that some years back where some files were lost is simply back things up immediately to another folder, partition, drive in case some unexpected problem comes up. That can save on a few headaches later.
