Arrow Next Windows

Hello, I started this thread to see what you all think the next version of windows will be called. Personally, I beleive it will be named Winows 2010. That is , if it comes out in 2010. Otherwise, maybe it will be Windows 3D. "The Ultimate 3D Experience."

MS won't announce that for some time since the first beta hasn't even been tested yet. The general reference to it at this time is simply Windows 7. In fact a bogus video seeing Vista splash screens renamed is one where someone is claiming to be the next version on Youtube!

The Blackcomb code name title was later changed to Vienna. Lohn horn became Vista. Will Vienna become...? I think that's one question everyone will be sitting back and waiting to see answered.

I think it should be PC-OS 7.0

In all seriousness, they should go with Windows SP. they had XP, but SP could be a better build on XP with Vista, XP, and classic visual styles, re-worked security, advanced customization for the user, and DX10 capability.

And when Windows SP SP1 is released, ain't idiots gonna be confused...
So far Microsoft has demonstrated such creativity, Windows 7 (Or PC-OS 7.1.2010) would be a name I wouldn't be surprised to see pop up.

And for what I know, DOOM was the first "Ultimate 3D experience". Microsoft is a little behind here...

I don't think we will see New Windows soon...
Vista still has too many things to improve.
I can't remember how many years was between first XP release and first Vista release.. I remember Windows 95, then 98, then Millenium (2000) and XP.. I guess it was 2002. Vista was released in 2007, right? So we have 5 years between XP and Vista releases. Then we should wait for New Windows not earlier than 2012 I suppose...
About name.. Let it be Windows Nano!

XP came out in 2001 following the ME flop. SP1 later came out in 2002 with the initial fixes for XP since that was the first version to incorporate the NT core into a desktop version following the divide between NT and Fat based versions. XP Pro saw the merger more offering more network support for a desktop release.

Windows 7 as it is referred at the moment was originally intended to be strictly 64bit until the 32bit users made a big fuss about that. MS then decided to release 32bit editions one more time and then abandoning 32bit totally.

Windows 7 as its not called has been in the works since early 2003 vista was a last minute throw togethor basically when tehy realised this woudlnt be ready on time... similar to me and xp... I personally dont see why they need to keep reinventing the wheel xp worked great lets make a new one that just looks differnt and have users loose functionality... sheesh stick with with works and release service packs like ubuntu does oh well never listen to users anyway what do we know we just use their products..
