Sounds like the mbr needs a rewrite as well as starting up the chkdsk utiliity while at the recovery console.
PC, I'm not sure how many times this needs mentioning, but obviously more than the two (now three) it has already: "When the CD boots, I get the usual Windows Setup blue screen, the it starts loading all the stuff, then it stops on the error I posted above, and I can't bypass it.."

Translation: He is unable to access the recovery utilities on the CD. The third time's a charm - maybe it will sink in. Please feel free to post a random useless-screenshot in a vain attempt to contradict.

On a totally new system the host OS drive needs to see a brand new primary with a clean install of Windows in order to see XP go on with the help of a driver disk if needed.
No...it doesn't...

The copy of Windows from the old system simply won't work on the new one if that is the only drive you have installed.
Provided everything was done the right way, yes...it will... Certain drivers may need to be installed, but it will work.

JBR, the best advice most of us on these Forums will be able to offer is stop listening to PC's advice (do a search and see some of his other Posts), or get up to 100 Posts so those of us who can actually assist in proper troubleshooting and can actually help can PM you

In the time being, forget pretty much everything you've 'learned' from PC and start fresh. As much as I love the program, ditch Gparted for this; give Clonezilla (free) a shot and start over from Step 1.

What did I miss? I just want to copy everything from my old rive to the new one, Windows, files, everything..

Windows and everything was working perfectly fine on my IDE drive, and I feel I cloned it successfully to the SATA drive, it just won't boot, and when I boot from CD for the windows to try that, I just get that dam blue screen of death...

Seems like I'll just have to sell the parts on ebay and just go back to my old tower of crap, cause I can't seem to find anything that works, I feel like I've tried everything out there.. I mean I know I probably haven't but it feels that way..

Who knew it would be so hard to build a new pc, transfer your existing windows and files from an IDE to SATA and just getting the darn thing to boot into windows?
You copied everything successfully. But like mentioned earlier GParted would copy "not clone" any partition. Cloning is done on the same system or identical when swapping drives not for seeing results on a totally new build.

For constant blue screens when booting up with the XP installation disk that could point at bad or incompatible memory as well as a bad lazer on a new optical drive being used. The original impression on this was that you were interested in saving all files and settings, personal data, etc. not expect a working copy of Windows on a totally different build.

Unlike Linux and the old Fat based versions that's a major, major hardware change where a clean install on a fresh primary is still going to be needed to see working results. The idea of copying an entire partition was simply to save anything wanted off of the old drive. GParted seems a little faster then the file and settinfs transfer wizard in XP. At least VIsta now sees a scheduler for regular backups.

Thanks for the CloneZilla software, I got it to clone, but my power went out 98% through.. I can boot into windows, but at the moment I am using my old drive to install everything, so that I can re-clone to my other disk with better results..

Gparted sucks, that was my problem to begin with... I wasted many days stressing something else was wrong when it just didn't clone it right..

Oh and PC, you do not need a fresh install, it worked for me, would have been 100% if my power hadn't gone out..

At this point any progress is good progress..lol.. I'm using the new pc right now!! Thanks again imsati !!

Most welcome. That sucks about the power outage - it's always something, eh? Glad things are in the process of working out if you need anything else, be sure to post up.
