Default SD card acting erratic or is it me?

Hello
My SD works fine in camera but when I put it into the slot on the PC it only works on rare occasion also I got it to open then dragged pics on to it but when I took it out the pics were gone on the cam and on the PC.
Thanks
Rob

Where is the slot? Is it on your printer, or is it on your computer (like a card reader in a drive bay) or do you have one of those USB card readers, there could be a short somewhere, or a loose connection. Try hooking your camera to the computer with a USB cable and see if that works.

The one slot in the printer/fax works well the one in the computer which is built into the front of the tower only works some times. I don't think it's the PC since it's almost new and hasn't given any other problems.
Thanks
Rob

Well, if the card reader on your printer works fine, but the one on your computer doesn't, I would almost guarantee that it's the reader on your printer. If you have another SD card I would try that, also if your computer is new enough and it's still covered by warranty sounds like a manufacturer's defect. Yeah, maybe someone will come by that knows more than I do.

It could also be some funky formatting used by the camera -- which requires the image transfer software that came with the camera to work properly.

Thanks for all the help.
Still can't figure it out but will eventually.
