The iPhone is going to be delayed in Australia because it can't be released under the same strategy as in the US. They can't lock people into one phone carrier because that contravenes the Trade Practices act. It constitutes third line forcing which it prohibited in Australia. Basically, you can't sell a product on the condition that you buy another product from another company, that is third line forcing and that is deemed to be anti-competitive.
I'm really looking forward to some iphone clones coming out, namely the M8 minione. It looks so good, a multi touch screen to boot as well. http://www.meizume.com/meizu-news/85...-unveiled.html Check it out, what do you think? |

It sucks that New Zealand will get it a lot later then any other place (if ever).
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/alasta/2488 But really. Why would you need an iPhone? Most of the features on phones we have now we never use. The iPhone will just add more redundant features to the list.

The wifi feature is really attractive. University of New South Wales which is the uni I go to has a free uni-wide wifi service so if I had an itouch or iphone I can access the internet wherever I want.

I wouldn't worry about not getting it. It's yet more rubbish we don't need. Why do we need to check e-mails on the bus or train? Surf the net wherever you are? Waist of money and time. Get out and live a little, it seems you just can't get away from life these days.
Go back to when I left school in 2002, we had phones but they were used as phones, and were off half the time - if you were at home you used a land line. Spent a month back-packing in europe that year, I reckon if I'd brought a phone it would've ruined it. I want to be iscolated, to have to think and plan ahead rather than just reacting. I'd love a year with no technology, I reckon it would be the best yet
