Default First time builder, step by step here

So I'm going for my first PC build from scratch very soon. I've never done it before, but here is how I plan on doing it.

1) put all the components together in the tower
2) Operating system goes on first (vista 64)
3) install security (kaspersky)
4) motherboard drivers (evga 790i ultra)
5) hook up to the internet
6) windows updates
7) then the rest of the device drivers

Does this seem ok, or should I revise my protocol?

Thanks.

That looks pretty good. Although I'd install the drivers all at once.

Remember the standoffs

I agree. I do the drives all at the same time. Good luck with the build.

I thought you had to reboot after each driver install?

I would ground yourself or use a anti wrist band, lay your m/b on a table on top of the anti static bag it came in ontop of the foam thats also in the packaging, fit your cpu, heatsink/fan and ram, lift your case onto the table on top of some newspapers, fit the i/o back plate, then fit the m/b in the case, then the rest of your hardware
then install o/s
drivers for m/b and gpu
sp1 if you have it on disk otherwise your internet security
then hook it to the net and install updates for vista and your security, log off
then do all scans
then install all other drivers i.e printer, photo scanner etc and do an update for them

Install Security once everything is fine and dandy and install the drivers all at once after you install the OS.

I don't understand how you can install all the drivers at once. I thought you had to reboot after each driver install?

Or when you say all at once, do you mean just do the drivers before I try something else like security or windows updates for example.

You COULD install them all at once and just reboot once, but if you don't want to then don't.

But yeah, install the drivers before anything else, or you may have issues configuring other things up the road.
