Default Forgotten pasword

My friend asked me if I can help her with this.
She put a password on her user interface on windows, forgot what it is, and now cannot log on.
I was wandering is there is a program for finding out what is the original password, or is reinstalling windows the only solution?

I see that's kind of a hacking problem, but I mean really isn't there a more simple solution for this problem which sounds to me happens often with people who don't use their computers very much? I guess not.

Not only are we not allowed to Post the actual how-to for something like this, but giving 'passive info' (ie - where to find the info) is also considered a no-no. You're done it in a few Threads now, so not sure if you knew it before or not. Either way, it could lead to bad mojo for you.

Thumbs up

Boot it up in safe mode and change the account settings in there - it should work. When you boot up the computer press "F8" continually until it goes into safe mode and go from there.

i had to wipe mine, ive never used a password since
