Default Wireless Cable Television Extender?

So in a week Im going to be redoing my bedroom which for years has been deprived of cable television. So I have heard myths of a wireless method that would allow me to independently control my bedroom television from a host television somewhere else in my house. Can anyone point me the right direction for such a device staying around $100 or less? Anyone have personal experience with any?

You can get wireless video senders pretty cheap now-a-days but they only allow you to watch the same channelas is being watched downstairs... I would have assumed the only option to be able to control it yourself would be to get another reciever in your room...

One of these and then run some coax to your room. It's easy and you would be able to change the channels on your own too.

Im leary of running cable through my walls though since i dont know how to do it .

I actually have an A/V sender-receiver, but it is limited to what the host tv is watching. Is there a way to buy a tv receiver to connect it to the AV receiver?

As far as I know, you can only mimic what the other TV is watching, I don't think there is a way to watch two separate channels... Unless you buy another receiver.

Sorry, I'm no help

apparently radioshack says i can plug the receiver into a vcr and use the vcr as a tuner if i split the cable at the host tv and go one cable to the tv and one cable to the sender...true?
