The computer that I used to use broke down a while ago and I've had to use a trashy Compaq with a Celeron processor and 256MB RAM. I've finally decided to try and fix it, but I'm gonna need some help. It's got two problems:
1.It fried hard drives. I'm pretty sure this can be fixed, but the question is, how? 2.It won't turn on (or give any sign of life) when I press the power button (this happened fairly recently and the wiring on the power button seems to be broken.) Fixing the power button should be fairly simple, but the main problem is "will it just fry my hard drive when it turns on?" It's fried two hard drives, but my thought was that maybe the mobo was shorting on the case. Is that possible? I've rebuilt it so if that is the issue it's probably fine now. I really want it fixed. What should I do? Thanks a LOT!
