Default My laptop was stolen, can I track it down?

My laptop was stolen and I was wondering if I could track it down using the mac address, is there any legitimate way of tracking laptops?

I'm not sure and I know this is after the fact but you can buy lojack for laptops at officemax, best buy, or others and they'll track it like you would with lojack and a car and they have a 90% recovery rate.

sorry about that

you should've bougt a lojack for laptops but that's too late now. it uses communication via internet

far as i know you can't track them down using a mac address filter as it is not universally unique

may i ask how it was stolen?

In theory, every MAC address is suppose to be unique.

I find it weird that you would know your MAC address, unless it was stored on the router for instance and you checked back to capture the MAC address.
