Default Date Error

Howdy all, newbie there have a question

Date is set as 1/1/2001? I change and then restart but it goes back to 1/1/2001, anyone have a idea?

You probably need to set the date in the bios. Or it could be that the motherboard battery is dead and everytime you boot from a cold start it will reset the bios date and all. If reseting the bios time just goes back to default after restarting try changing the battery.

more than likely the CMOS battery which holds memory when computer is off is dead. first sign is date and time changing.
