Default Question about DDR memory

I am building my first computer for the kids to play around with and a friend gave me an AMD Athlon 3000 XP to start with...I have a case and power supply and I have this MOBO on the way http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=52&LanID=0

Question is even though this board will support all these types memory will it hurt anything to go with the DDR 400 even though this CPU FSB is 333...I have another computer I could put the 400 in as an upgrade if I ever decided to,but I am more concerned with getting memory for this new computer for now...This web site has something to say bout
DDR memory http://reviews.ebay.com/DDR-Memory-W...00000000129067
but this board doesn't have any of these chipsets....If I can use 400 thats kinda what I want to go with because like I said, I already have a machine this can run on,but I don't want to do something like get RAM that can't run on my new system....Any advise please....

well looking at the mobo's site, it says it can support DDR 400, 333, and 266 Mhz memory
it should be the motherboard/northbridge that decides what memory and cpu you can have..
I remember an Athlon 2800 that i used to have that ran DDR 400 with a stick of DDR 266..

Most of the Socket A boards I used with the KT600 didnt have the memory and FSB fixed a 1:1, you could set them individually. But I,m not sure on a ECS board, they could have limited the bios options. But if not the DDR400 will just back clock to 333
